OBIEE 11g unable to connect to Oracle Database

Problem
When opening OBIEE Enterprise Manager url in a browser, it throws the following error: [nQSError: 17014] could not connect to Oracle database

Symptom
Unable to open Analytics page URL.
Cause
 Host name changed in DSN.

Solution:
1.      Open EM.
2.      Notice that the service OracleRTD is down.
3.      Under the Weblogic Domain folder, you will see your domain (here we use bifoundation_domain).
4.      Right click bifoundation_domain -> JDBC Data source.

5.      Under JDBC Data Sources, you will see your DSN name (here we use rtd_datasource), click that service. Notice that the OracleRTD service is down.

6.      Click Connection Properties tab and note down your host name, port and service name in the Database URL textbox.

7.      Verify host name, port and service name in biee-domain.xml file in the server path below: C:\OBIEE11gNew\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig\biee-domain.xml
8.      Update the file with correct host name/port in editable view of biee-domain.xml as shown in the below image.

9.      Save biee-domain.xml file.

10.  Now stop and start all OBIEE services (OPMN).

11.  Verify in EM that all services are up.
